About Koester & Associates

Board Governance

Ms. Koester has extensive experience serving on, and working for, Boards of Directors.  In 2000, she launched a Board Consulting enterprise aimed at educating and orienting Board Members about their governance responsibilities as both members-of-the-whole Board and as individual Directors.  Since 2000, Koester & Associates has worked with over 100 entities – of all types – to redesign and improve their governance structure and practices.  She believes that good governance – by means of expert education, coaching, practical processes, and retreats — is the key to any healthy and effective organization or company.

Education and Affiliations

Ms. Koester holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, and a master’s degree in Social Gerontology.  She is a trained mediator and a Registered Parliamentarian (RP).  She is a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians, Association for Conflict Resolution, and the National Association of Parliamentarians.

Ms. Koester is also the former CEO of Arizona LeadingAge, an advocacy group for organizations dedicated to providing quality housing, healthcare and community-based services for Arizona’s seniors.
